Producer Portfolio

I work as a news producer for ABC12-WJRT in Flint, Michigan. I produce the weekday mornings 4:30 and 6 a.m. newscasts. I use ENPS for my rundowns. I am adept in writing scripts, elementing news stories, and proficient in video editing.

Live Zoom Interview

I’ve produced shows with live shots and interviews. One of my favorites was the Back to the Bricks Promo Tour on June 6, 2021.

Live Rocket Launch

I’ve taken and timed live feeds of national events, like SpaceX’s Crew-2 rocket launch from the Kennedy Space Center on April 23, 2021, at 5:50 a.m.

Sports VO/SOT

I’m skilled at adapting to change. Flint Native Claressa Shields had her MMA debut Thursday, June 10. It wrapped up after the sports team left for the night. I wrote and produced this VO/SOT for the morning shows.

(ANCHOR: MATT) In sports —
Flint native Claressa Shields — *dominating the cage in her M-M-A debut overnight.
The 3-division reigning junior middleweight and middleweight boxing champion is now undefeated in *two combat sports.
(TAKE VO)
Shields scored a third-round stoppage against Brittney Elkin — called by the ref when she had Elkin pinned.
Shields landed *90 total strikes — double her opponent.
In arm strikes — Shields commanded the cage — landing nearly 40, compared to ZERO from Elkin.
The 26-year-old athlete says she never doubted herself in boxing — but she came into the M-M-A fight with losing as a possibility.
(SOT :12)

<(8:15-8:27) “I just had a ‘never quit’ attitiude every round. I’m like, ‘Whatever you do, I don’t care if she gets you in an arm bar, I don’t care if she gets you in a triangle, you’d better not quit.’ Never give up. That’s what I told myself.”>

(CONT VO)
Shields says she trained 7 months for her M-M-A debut.
The faceoff was part of Shield’s multi-fight contract through the Professional Fighters League.
Stay with ABC12 Sports as we follow Shields’ next events.
